Buzz Sweets UKMCL Champions Trophy 2016 Shared by MCC and Griffins

MCC and Griffins jointly lift the Buzz Sweets UKMCL Champions trophy after the final match being stopped due to rain by umpires Peter.

Earlier on the day, Griffins won the toss and elected to bowl first. MCC started steadily in the initial overs to reach 100 for the loss of 2 wickets including their star batsman Aghilan. Opener Sujith played a sensible innings mixing with aggression with the company of Rajaneesh kept the run rate healthy for MCC. After Sujith departed for a well-made 47, MCC captain Praveen joined Rajaneesh and the duo maintained the scoring rate as MCC reached 160 for 4 in 25 overs. Introduction of spinners Anooj and Vijay on both ends worked for Griffins as Anooj stuck in regular intervals taking 4 valuable wickets to wrap up the MCC innings to 210 all out with 3 overs to spare.

It was a bad start for Griffins as they lost early wickets to reach 50/5 in 12 overs when rain interrupted the match. Umpire Peter called off the match due to bad weather conditions.
